Distributive Networks CEO Kevin Bertram will lead a "Digital Dialogue" at the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities

September 22, 2006

WASHINGTON, DC - Kevin Bertram, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Distributive Networks, will lead a "Digital Dialogue" on innovations in the mobile terrain at the Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities (MITH) at the University of Maryland on September 26, 2006.

The discussion, entitled "You Can Take It With You: The Nascent Role for Mobile in the Digital Humanities," will discuss the current mobile landscape and explore possible visions for the mobile-enabled future, with a focus on innovative uses of mobile technology in the arts, and the technology’s influence on language, literature and culture.

According to Matthew Kirschenbaum, Assistant Professor of English and Associate of MITH, "It's no exaggeration to say Kevin's talk is one of the ones we're most excited about this semester. It's an opportunity not only to hear about the latest in mobile technology, but also how humanities content is being used in commercial settings. We're looking forward to the discussion."

Kevin Bertram stated, "I have long been an admirer of the MITH program and its unique perspective on how technology drives - and reflects - changes in society. It is an honor to have the opportunity to join in a discussion with the MITH students and other participants, and I look forward to learning even more than I will share."

The session will take place on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at 12:30pm in the MITH Conference Room, McKeldin Library B0135 of the University of Maryland.
