George Mason Athletics to Offer New Text Messaging Sweepstakes
Winners will take home CAA Championship tickets, Kent State VIP Floor Seats
February 8, 2007
FAIRFAX, VA - George Mason Athletics, in conjunction with Distributive Networks, is introducing a new text message sweepstakes during its next two upcoming games against Virginia Commonwealth and Hofstra.
By correctly answering a "BracketBuster Trivia" question via text message during the radio broadcast of the VCU game on Thursday (Feb. 8), fans will be made eligible for two VIP floor seats to the ESPNU BracketBuster game against Kent State on Feb. 17th.
Each answer will be assigned a letter: A, B, C or D. Fans will text the letter that corresponds to their vote to 56333 (text "A" to vote for answer A, "B" to vote for answer B, and so on). One fan that correctly answers the question will be selected as the sweepstakes winner.
During a first half timeout of the Hofstra game at the Patriot Center on Saturday, fans in the arena will be prompted to enter the sweepstakes to win two all-session tickets to the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship in Richmond March 2-5. To make themselves eligible for the sweepstakes, in-arena fans should text the word "CAA" to 56333. The winner will then be selected via a drawing at halftime, and the winner will receive their prize during the second half.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with George Mason, and to enable their fans to have yet another exciting way to participate in the games," said Distributive Networks' Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Bertram. "Text messaging sweepstakes are an ideal way to engage fans, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to support the Patriots."
George Mason’s radio broadcast against VCU can be heard on ESPN Triple X Radio (94.3 FM, 92.7 FM and 730 AM) at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available for the Hofstra game on Feb. 10 at 4 p.m. in the Patriot Center. Call (703) 573-SEAT or visit GoMason.com.
